Field mice can cause a lot of damage indoors by contaminating food, chewing on wires and other items, and carrying ticks or mice.

Field Mouse Habitat

As their name implies, field mice live in fields or grassy areas. They make their nest in gardens, wooden areas, or parks. Field mice will store food in their underground nest, called burrows. Like most animals, they are attracted to anywhere food sources are easily available.

They also can gnaw through wires, insulation, papers, and more when they are nesting. Seeing gnaw marks, tracks, or rub marks left from their fur are the first signs of a problem. They are good hiders, and controlling an infestation almost always requires professional help
